I am about to be 16 in a month…i have been wanting to play the piano for such a long time and i was wondering if it would be too late to try and start playing now. I want to know your opinion, preferably from people who play the piano themselves. I already know a little bit about the piano like the tones and the major and minor piano scales…even a few chords. Oh yeah! and do you think that since i would be starting so late, that i could ever be good? If so, then do you know someone who started at the age of 16, or older?

I started piano at 18, and became a professional musician. some of the greatest musicians didn’t have formal training. Great music speaks to the heart, it’s not complicated and technical. Just practice music a little every day and it’ll come.
no it’s not too late, i started when i was like around 13-14 and i’m fixin to be sixteen. my piano teacher says anyone who wants to learn the piano can. so i say play! it’s the best instrument in the world!!
the reason why people start at age 3 &4 etc. i because that when our fingers are the most flexible. but there’s no difference when you hear someone who started playing at 4 or 40.

YES! It is possible, my hubby started playing when he was 15 and he is a Awesome player! He even plays by ear. He also plays about 12 other instruments he even taught himself many of them. If you have a heart for music you can do it! Don’t give up.
My father started playing the piano in his thirties, and continued well into his fifties until his unrelated death. Yes, he got good. Very good.

I started playing piano at age nine, younger then u but older than most kids. now, those kids who started learning at age 3 / 4 are in grade nine piano while i;ve already got 1st class honors for completing my grade 10 piano exam!!!!
u could be amazing … If U PRACTICE! be prepared to put a lot more effort in than most piano players if u want to be good.
i just started learning trombone last week! i practiced a lot and i’m improving quite rapidly. P.S. i’m seventeen
